Osteopathy for Headaches and Migraines

Headaches are so common that it is thought only about 2% of the population will be able to say they’ve never had a headache. There are several different causes of headache, most of which are very responsive to manual treatment such as Osteopathy.

Before I dive into detail though I will point out now that though the majority of headaches are benign, they can occasionally indicate a serious illness such as a brain tumour or aneurysm and there are certain warning signs that require immediate investigation from your doctor:

  • Development of a sudden or new headache, that differs from your “normal” headache

Osteopathy and Golf Injuries

Osteopathy can help to resolve your pain and improve your swing

Well it is that time of year where golfing season is just about back into full swing (no pun intended), so it may be time to ensure your body is as well. You may have a few ongoing niggles you’d like to be rid of, or some more debilitating injuries that (god forbid) may be keeping you off the golf course all together.

As a (bad) golfer myself, I am aware of the tolls this dangerous sport can have on one’s body. There are a few key injuries to be aware of, to take them seriously and seek treatment early on, to prevent them interrupting your game for longer than necessary.

Osteopathy For a Healthy Pregnancy

Supporting a comfortable, healthy pregnancy

OSTEOPATHY DURING PREGNANCY

Having the opportunity to help expectant mothers during and post-pregnancy is one of my favourite areas of my work. Pregnancy is a natural process which shouldn’t be seen as an illness, and Osteopathy can help to support the changes in the mother’s body as pregnancy progresses, important for the development of the unborn child and for the delivery.

There are many changes to the mother’s body that occur in a healthy pregnancy, including:

  • the uterus and it’s ligaments increasing in size

Osteopathy For Babies & Children

Osteopathy can be an extremely gentle, yet effective form of treatment for babies & children.

A lot people wonder how a baby can possibly have anything wrong with their bodies and think that treatment is surely unnecessary, but bear in mind that the birthing process can be quite forceful and traumatic. In a “normal” birth the baby’s head will change shape, the small bones of the skull will slightly overlap to allow movement through the birth canal, often resulting in a slightly misshapen head.
